Arboricultural Surveys

There is a statutory duty under the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) for local planning authorities to consider the protection of trees when planning applications are made. Therefore, it is not unusual that our mostly commonly requested type of tree survey is to meet a planning application requirement. To ensure the correct information is collected and any impact on trees can be assessed, tree surveys for planning must follow the British Standard ‘BS5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction’. In addition to this basic survey, we are also able to offer a range of other associated arboricultural services should the need arise.

Focus Ecology are pleased to facilitate the following services:

  • Tree surveys for planning (BS5837:2012).
  • Inspection of trees for Health and Safety.
  • Arboricultural Method Statements.
  • Arboricultural Impact Assessments.
  • Root protection zones.
